Line reactors help reduce electrical buildups which can cause temperature increases in variable frequency drives. This can be damaging to the motor and electrical system.

Motor Efficiency
Because of the increased efficiency caused by the line inductor, these electric motors run at a much higher efficiency level with a lower noise output as well.

To add Line Impedance.
To provide some light buffering against low magnitude line spikes.
To reducing Harmonics (When no link choke is present).
To compensating for a low inductance motor.
